If I walk into an apple store/retailer store in NY, MI, VT or NH find a 17" and buy it, am I subject to sales tax?

Is it just with online purchases where you aren't subject to sales tax depending on the state and the online retailer?

I'm seriously considering cancelling my Canadian ADC order and either spending the weekend wardriving across the US in proximity to Lake Ontario/Lake Mich. to find one or get it from an online retailer, get it delivered to my relative's in Ohio, pick it up and smuggle it back to Toronto.

It's actually cheaper to pay full retail in the US than it is to buy in Canada even WITH the 20% student developer discount!

Yes, you're subject to sales tax. Only place without sales tax that I recall is the state of Oregon. There may be one other state; I don't recall.

NH is sales taxless --- instead of driving over, you might wanna consider ordering from NH's MacConnection.com

Just bought my 1GHZ TI while I was in Delaware - saved the 8.25% sales tax in Dallas!
