Hi,
Odd problem here. My iBook 800, which is about 7 mo. old, just developed a problem with the screen. It goes black if the screen is adjusted, and will not turn on again unless I reset the PRAM.

Is this indicative of anything? How do I fix it? After I reset PRAM, the screen will work fine until I move it again, and then I have to reset PRAM again to get it to work.

Does anybody have any suggestions for fixing this? Thanks!

Is it just the backlight or is it the video itself? In either case, if it happens when you move the screen, most likely you have a pinched cable that would need to get fixed. I'm not sure why resetting the PMU would fix this, though. In any case, you need to take that machine in.

Yes, I still get video, but no flourescents, so its practically impossible to see the screen. PMU is what puzzles me though. I have used the VGA(?) adapter for the first times recently for presentations, and now this.

My iBook is off to Applecare land now, for 280$ (thank all for a warranty), but the guy at the Apple store said he had seen this before, although he didn't know if it was a bad video card, video charger, or crimped wire.

How common is such a thing as this?
