Hi

Just wondering if i will run into any issues hooking up the pb to the plasma screen?

I'll be running a motion graphics display on the screen, so i wont' run into the burn in factor with plasma's.

What are all the externa resolutions that the pb 17" supports? The plasma uses a standard DVI connector. Trying to get the specs on the screen to find out the resolutions that it runs at.

Thanks

The most common resolution for Plasma's (and as an owner of a Plasma screen myself I've looked around) is 1024 x 1024 (yes, that's right).

You should have no problem at all hooking up the 17". I occasionally run my PC through my Plasma, and I'll be doing the same with the 17" Powerbook.

For your reference, the Plasma is a Fujitsu PDS-4242W.

Yep, as long as the Plama has an S-Video or RCA input (which surely it does), you'll have no problems connecting it.

As for the resolution capibilities of the 17" PowerBook, I got this straight from the Apple site: "Simultaneously supports up to 1440 by 900 pixels on the built-in display and up to 2048 by 1536 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors."

I've ran the 17" PB's own LCD at 1440x900 (it's native resolution) AND my 23" HD Display at 1920x1200 at the same time with no issues whatsoever. Good luck!

while i dont have an HDTV, from what i've seen, most TVs with VGA or DVI inputs for computers will not support full-screen computer resolution. they usually support 1024x768. I havent seen any that accept full screen (1280x720 or whatever the TV supports) resolutions, maybe because they dont want people calling in saying that windows doesnt recognize the supported resolution. (for all i know, OSX does this too, but ive only heard about it on windows)
