When I first got the computer and started playing war3 it was perfect, no lag in battles or anything. Now it does. Is there anyway to maximize my graphics or improve it at all. thanks

Since you first got it, do you now have any extra apps/programs running the background using up your resources? This can cause poorer performance in games, and also, make sure somehow your detail settings and such haven't got altered.

Hmm, that's what I was reffering to then, just to check and see if anything was arrowed. The only other thing I can think of is that you've somehow suddently cluttered your system with files and programs, but you'd notice a computer-wide slowdown then. Hmm, sorry to hear about this...I really don't have any other tips on it, best of luck with it

Just for curiosities sake, you can run Process Viewer from your Utilities Folder(Inside Applications) and see if anything is hogging your CPU.
Once I found that a process was consuming 70% of my CPU. I found it was a Login item so, I removed it and freed up my CPU.
You can also Open CPU Monitor and get a visual on how you CPU is performing, in the blue is good, red is working hard.

I had something similar to the pevious poster's experience. One day, I noticed that my Ghz fan came on earlier than expected when I really wasn't doing anything. So I checked TOP (terminal, type top then return), and something in the finder was chewing like 70% CPU cycles. Wierd. Anyway, I just restarted the finder and all was well.
I doubt that this is your problem, but if you want to see if something is hogging your processor, top is the way to do it because it will put a name on the cluprit right away.
