Hello,
I have read the following on the UK MacUser forum. However, I do not know if it's true. Could someone tell me if the following described operation could allow us to burn dvd-rw?
Thanks.
zacharie

from revjasonclark:
"Does any one know if superdrive in 17" PB is capable of giving DVD-RW support? I just burned a disc fine, but can't delete or edit it at all.....

Thanks"

baward then replied:
"You need Toast Titanium version 5 or greater. That allows you to a) erase DVD-RW and b) con the Superdrive into thinking its burning to a (costly) DVD-R; during a burn session, insert a DVD-R when prompted then once you have closed the drive and the DVD-R has been recognised, quickly eject the DVD-R and replace it with the DVD-RW.

In Toast, you can do a Quick Erase of DVD-RW (and CD-RW) media, whcih will suffice to 'wipe' a disc. The Full Erase is not normally necessary, and takes about 10 times longer."

There is at least one very long thread here on this subject -- you could search for that. Last I checked, DVD-RW didn't work, but I haven't been following it.

DVD-RW does not work, even with Toast. (You can read it though, if the disc was written on a different machine.)
