These guys probably make the best-*looking* cases/bags in my opinion, and they also have a great reputation in sales/service. I wouldn't hesitate buying from them if you dig their style.

Those bags look nice, but I wish they had REAL pictures of these bags instead of damn renderings. That alone makes me not to want buy one.

I have a Maccase for my 15" Tibook.. this is a low quality bag - that is also impractical. I would not reccommend this bag. If you want a bag with quality finish look at Tom Bihn or the Waterfield collection.

I refuse to buy any bag that secures the Ti or Al Powerbook with a strap, no matter how "soft" that strap may be. While it probably won't scratch the computer, it will defintely mar the finish over the short term, particularly on the Albooks. (They don't scratch easily, but they are more susceptible to permanent scuffs.)

I use the Brenthaven case designed specifically for the 17". I have the same case for my Ti, having used it for over a year. Incredible removeable sleeve protects the computer from any harm that may befall the case.

I like the Timbuk2 bags myself. I just bought one about a month ago and I always have people asking me where I got the bag. I have a Powerbook G4 867 15" and it fits perfectly using their laptop sleeve. Although the top of the sleeve is open and the laptop is secured in its case with a strap buckle, its a real nice bag overall. The cool thing about Timbuk2 messenger bags is that you can also use the bag itself for other things other than a computer bag. I got tired of the businees looking laptop bags- most of them come in black. Timbuk2 bags are great- and you can custom build your bag to your liking. I chose to "think different" so why not "look different" with a Timbuk2 messenger bag.

The Timbuk2 Messenger bags look really nice. But not terribly practical for business. Better suited for students, me thinks.

I bought the Slim 17" Bag in black from this website:

http://www.acmemade.com/bags.html

It's extremely high quality and has a very clean design for when you just need to throw your PowerBook and power adapter in a bag and go. And it only weighs 1.4lbs.

I picked up the PowerSleeve17 from booq bags. I can't really tell you anything about it because I haven't got it yet. It's pretty minimalist though, just what I need for classes and flights home. Check it out at:

http://www.booqbags.com/ps17.html

I won't get it until after April 30th, but I decided it was worth the wait. It does everything I want it to.

Wow, that looks great. Everything I want. A pocket for some CDs and the AC adapter and a detacable strap. And only $50?! That's a good price.

No I do not have the sleeve - I have the case. This fits the Ti book perfectly - so there is no room for anything else. There is this internal thing that you are meant to hold the power supply and cables etc - if you do - it means that you press against the top of the Tibook - not cool at all. In addition the shoulder pad on the strap has come unstiched and thus fallen to pieces - plus the lining inside the case has fallen to bits so there are holes.. no this is not a quality case.

The sleeves/binders that they have may be a better deal - these comments just refer to the MacCase

I like the looks (and the weight) of the Acme bags. I like the high style of the Geomtri and Eames Dots fabrics, but I have to admit as a guy I would feel a little weird carrying one.

But I see nothing wrong with, say, the black or the brown. My only problem is I need a little more room than that for a few books, accessories, etc.

Mandarina Duck makes some laptop-specific bags which are beautifully designed and excellent quality (also a little expensive [sigh]). I don't think they are sold in the US but there are many shops around Europe and also a lot of new bags are constantly listed on eBay.

Personally I have the double-front-pocket black leather bag from the "Yellow" line. This bag doesn't have a laptop sleeve built in, but I just slid in my slipcase and it's good to go. I measured the bag's opening and it will even fit the 17" PB which I plan to buy this summer. I just have to get a new 17" slipcase. This bag looks sweet as hell.

You can check the designs at www.mandarinaduck.com, but the illustrations don't give much detail. Many of the bags in the "Work" line have built in laptop sleeves, FYI.

Which bag number is that? And do you know how much it weighs?

Thanks.
