As I'm watching what I can of the war on CNN and FOX, I've seen some video clips of our forces at work... I'm not talking about the video phone stream, but a few clips that look like compressed video that was pre-recorded. I'm just wondering, and also asking anyone here if they know any press people over there who are using powerbooks (or any notebooks) for some of the field/video work.

anyone heard anything? I'm really curious about how they are accomplishing this, the sand gets into EVERYTHING over there, my buddy who we've sent stuff to his unit requested items be packed in plastic double zip locked bags. I know there are ruggedized notebooks by panasonic and fieldworks, but to think regular notebooks are out there would suprise me quite a bit.

I did see a report on somewhere recently about some of the field officers in the US Army specially requistitioning Apple 12", as they were much quicker than the panasonic toughbooks - but have you seen those things - they go down to stupid size!
