Hi people, I've got home from Uni and have to again get used to the punishment which is browsing the internet through a 56K modem. I don't use 'connect automatically' as when I am away from a phoneline, it tries to connect, I tell it not to, and then it tries again and again regardless of what I do (where is the 'work offline' option??) So instead I use the 'menuling'. Problem is, for about 20 secs after waking up from sleep, it doesn't respond; I can pull down the menu and select connect, but nothing happens. Does this happen for anyone else? Apple's implementation of dialup access is, for me crap. Windows handles it better IMHO - it connects automatically, but when you ask it not to, it just stops without trying to take over your system.
