I know this topic has been covered many times, but the noise of my PB 17 seemed to get quite a bit louder today. Normally, I can hear the crackling under the keyboard, but now it is overpowered by the whining noise. Kind of sounds like morse code when i am doing stuff... beep beeeep beep beeeeeeeep beep beep beeeeeeeeeeeep...

I love my PowerBook, but if this keeps getting louder, I might get annoyed.

And no, I don't think it is just me. I remember distinctly when the sizzling was the loudest sound, but now this noise is the prominent one. At least I could stand the sizzling...

Addendum...

OK, the sound is gone. On a whim, remembering what another person had mentioned in a forum, I unplugged my USB hub (printer, mouse, palm) and the sound went away completely! So, I was scared to plug them back in, but when I did, still no sound.

Weird, I am really curious about these sounds. I would love to hear what Apple says they are.
