Hello everyone,
I'm looking in to getting myself a nice little PB 17" to replace my old PB 15". And right now I'm looking at the available bags/carry cases.
So far the Crisp Suit from Crumpler looks the best, but I was wondering if anyone here has one and could perhaps provide a few 'bag in action' shots. All suggestions on other brands are more than welcomed. I'm also looking for a more conservative leather computer/suit-case to have when I'm not travelling.

I doubt that the laptop compartment of Crumpler's "Very Busy Man" bag is big enough for the 17". I've got a 15" and it just fits...
Crumpler makes GREAT bags tho. I love mine.

Hey Johan,
I have a Crumpler Crisp Suit and will get my powerbook next week . I bought it after being assured from crumpler that the powerbook will fit ,and from the measurements I have taken it looks like it will but I won't know for sure till next week . I will post some pics when I have it . It is a great bag by the way - very well made with heaps of storage and they will give me my money back if it doesn't fit .

Very Busy man is FANTASTIC!!!
I have one (but a 15" AlBook) and it is just great. Tons of space in that thing, and to me it looks like the 17" should be just fine - not sure about how much else you could put in.
I have actually had both my 15" HP laptop and my 15" AlBook in there at the same time when I first got my AlBook - not sure I would want to do that again - very tight fit.
I've also had the AlBook and a Sony Vaio 10" laptop in there - that was no problem, even with all of its other crap that it needs (external everything on it).
I wanted a messenger type bag for riding a scooter into work (in Bermuda most all of the men ride scooters and the women take the car - families are only allowed one car, unless you are a doctor, then two). At first I ended up just taking the ferry and the bag worked great for that.
Now I ride my Vespa in and I had planned on wearing the bag over my shoulder - but I actually got a Shad carry case on the bike that is just big enough that the bag fits in great - so I can ride normally (great in the rain).
I have been very impressed with the bag.
My only small issues with it:
1) It is a weird olive green color on the outside, and then a bright orange color on the inside. I would rather it had some of the orange on the outside, and been more of a grey or black instead of olive.
2) The shhoulder pad part slides around - good if you want to adjust it, but it is a strange shape
3) there is a small clasp that is on the shoulder strap that lets you attach it to the bag so that it pulls the bag up closer to you - it is a flimsy little strap and seems like an afterthought.
4) The biggest issue is how the strap adjusts. It is the same material as seat belts, and is slightly slick - all of this is good in terms of sturdiness and waterproofness - but the clasp that allows you to adjust how much slack the strap has is flakey.
I've had it come undone many times and it is not at all cool for that to happen while you are carrying it since there is a $3K fragile thing in there that you don't exactly want crashing about.
but in general, the size and storage, along with the design and watershedding ability - love it.
I will likely need to get a waterproofing spray to recoat it at some point, but that is likely still at least 6 months out.

I picked up a crumpler Base Toucher back pack. Nice bag...has a detachable inner sleeve for my new 15" Albook. It fits very snugly and when I'm not carrying the Pb around I remove the sleeeve for more space. It's comfortable with plenty of pockets. check it out for an alternative to the messenger bag.
