Went to a government expo in washington dc... Apple had a large bit of floor space with two 17's on display that you could play with, and that I did

one thing that I can say...that's a whole lotta notebook, and a beautiful one at that, as much as I desired one before, that desire is now twofold.

Their display model was chocked full of ram as well. Very responsive, and that screen is just incredible. Can't wait to get my very own

I am now thinking that I won't even bother with the 20" display, but the one time ADC discount keeps calling me back. I have heard rumors of a 30" display in the works, might be worth waiting for that to develop, and have the 20" prices go down.

Ah well, you shoulda seen the grin on my face, like a kid in a candy store

Congrats on getting your hands on one! Yep, once you touch one, it's hard not to need one! And as for the 30" Display, in my honest opinion, that's way too big for everyday usage. The resolution will have to be large so you can read the text on it, and MaximumPC recently reviewed a 30" computer LCD and said that while it would be nice for large seminar rooms and meetings, it simply was impractical for the average usage due to the large pixel size and slow pixel response that made gaming and heavy motion DVD's lag and have motion blur. People have to think past the size; bigger isn't always better.

If it drives down the price of the 20" I am all for it Still debating the 20, the size of the 17's own screen was huge, not sure if the extra screen is needed. (would be very nice of course)

what did the 20" cost after the ADC discount?

nm, found the link you posted earlier

Alrighty, cool deal...the price of the 20" is *very* sweet after the ADC Discount; I personally picked up the 23" HD Display w/ my discount and the 17" PB pushes it beautifully (check out my review HERE if you haven't already for more details). And the price of the 20" Display won't be moving anytime soon consider it has just recently came out, but it's hard to beat the value of that display.
