If it was Fujitsu quiet I would buy one in a second. Too bad the 17" PB doesn't allow for user install on a new HD, at least while you want your warranty to be valid.

Hmmm... but lets say you buy the 80 gig, and exchanged it with the 60 on the 17, but if you have a problem and need to sent it in for a repair, can't you just switch it back? How would they know anyways?

But yea, I guess that would only work of course with a hardware issue, but software wise... you can get that solved over the phone anyways.

check out the one i sent with 16 mb buffer
http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/Produ...ductCode=101670

with this hard drive that should help out with the firewire 800 epsicially target disk mode etc. Tell me what you think. It is crtinaly faster than the one in it now. with 5400 rpm and a bigget bus 4200 rpm kills it. what is the purpose for a firewire800 then. you need a fast hd for that like for target disk mode etc. Toshiba "GAX" 5400rpm 2.5 inch 9mm drive (16MB buffer) in both If you can't get the link that is the hard drive.

You can't replace the HD on a PowerBook and keep warranty? That sucks.
