can anyone tell me whether or not the current iBook has a logic boad battery/ i know it does not have a pram battery as such.

I would assume that it must, to keep system time even when the battery is removed, and such.

No, it doesn't. There is only a capacitor buffering stuff for a few minutes. Search Apple's KB for further details...
