I'm having this strange encounter with the power adaptor on two 17-inchers. Not a problematic issue, just strange.

After achieving a 100% charge, the power adaptor remained on (green light) and I shut down my PB. Woke up this morning, the green light is off even the power is on. Strange? No, it's not charging the PB either. I have to switch off and on to bring the green light on and then it will turn to amber for charging. Hmm...

Anyone with similar encounter?

Kinda strange no one here has the same problem as me. But, it's reported at Apple Discussion Forum.

I've had a similar problem the first week i had my powerbook. I would use the pb on battery, then at night plug it in, seeing teh green light go on, then head off to bed. Wake up the next morning and find out that my battery is completely drained, and the charging light is not on. Unplug it from the powerbook, then plug it back in...nothing happens. I had to physically unplug the power adapter from the wall and plug it back in to get it to charge.

That happened twice in the first week...hasn't happened again since.

I have had (and still do) some weird problems with the power adapter on my Tibook 15" and an external 20" Cinema display.

If I leave the cover down on my Tibook and use the sleep function from the monitor, I will lose the power connection and next wake up will be using battery power.

The only work around i have found is to always open the cover of the Tibook to wake up the system (and close the cover for sleep mode) and leave the cover up during use. I really don't mind this so much because I use the dual monitor configuration a lot anyway. It does seem very strange how the adaptor will lose it's connection with the power supply and require you to unplug and replug back in to get the AC power back on again..

I really think apple has some capacitors or something in these power adaptors which seem to get overheated or shut down when a full charge is reached and don't turn themselves back on properly.. Just my $.02 worth..
