Hi guys and gals,
I'm posting both here and at Apple's Discussion forum, so sorry for that, those of you who visit both forums.
Now to my problem.....
I just found out that my PCMCIA-slot is not working anymore. It must have happend in the last few days (a week maybe).
I use an adapter for my CompactFlash card to upload the pictures I've taken with my digital camera. Last night I had taken some pictures that I wanted to transfer to my computer and was very upset when I found out that I coudln't push the adapter in anymore.... it was about 4-5 mm lacking of being completly in and it was dead hard, and I'm not sure it would have gone in if I used extreme force, but I didn't dare that.
I tried the adapter in my old Pismo and in my husbands laptop (PC) and the adapter had no problems at all sliding in and mount the CF-card on the computer.... so it seem to be my new PowerBook that's not liking the PCMCIA-adapter anymore.
Only diffrence since last time I uploaded images was the update to 10.2.5, but why would a system update affect something hardware related like this?
Anyone with the same problem or someone that might have an idea for a fix?
Feels stupid to send in the computer for a repair for that small of a problem and be without the computer for a week or more. I've placed an order for an USB cardreader now, but I kind of like the PCMCIA-card adapter when I'm out traveling since I then want to pack light.
