Hey all,

I was just doing a little spring cleaning, updating files, backing up, etcetera, with my 17", Pismo, and Lombard.

Thought you might like this photo. It really shows that the 17" is not as huge as it seems. It actually feels smaller than my Pismo/Lombard.

Enjoy!

Can you post a pic with Big Al and the Pismo or Lombard side by side? Get a forward shot to see the height difference and get a top shot to see the width difference.

Kind of makes those "the 17" is too big" people look a bit silly, doesn't it?

Indeed. When I ordered the "Big Al", I kept measuring my pismo over and over. The 17" was thinner and not as deep and was only about an inch wider on either side. It is not big at all compared to the Pismo, but it seems huge because of the large, bright screen real estate.

Big Al looks slightly deeper because of the screen hinge, but yeah it looks like, from the pictures that they are both about the same depth. Big Al is shorter, but it's still got more vertical screen realestate than the Pismo which is great engineering, IMO.

Mmm.. I want mine...

Thanks for the great comparison pics, jtbowden.

The new PowerBooks are nice, but I really miss the curves of the older Power- and iBooks. Curves are nice. They make laptops seem more human.

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.

He's exceeded his bandwidth allotment from Geocities, so they restricted access to the pictures.

Yeah, sorry. I had the pictures posted on my school disk, but they shut down access at the end of the semester. So, I tried geocities and it had its own issues. I'll see what I can do.

With a pic from the rear of them, people could know about how beatiful Pismo/Lombard really are. Same thing for a pic from the 3/4 lateral side.

I have a picture around somewhere with my old:

Wallstreet 233 12"
Pismo 400
Ti 400
Ti 550
Ti 800
17"

All sitting side-by-side. I'll try to find it. If I can't, then it's no more because the 17" is the only computer I currently own. I sold all the rest just to get them out of here, because i never use them, and I could get some decent money for them. Got about $7500 for them, all told.
