I do tech support for a big corporation that uses PCs and Windows. The travelers are equipped with IBM ThinkPads and logon to the company's network via dialup networking. As a tech support dude, every nite I deal with at least a dozen people who have trouble with the service. Truth be told, I once tried connecting with my PC and couldn't get it.
On a wierd urging, I tried connecting to the network with Gatsby, my little iBook with lots o' attitude. I entered the phone number in the Internet Connect, along with my company user ID and password. BANG! I was on the network in under 30 seconds.
If I had a problem, then everything I need to resolve it is in the System Preferences window or the Internet Connect window. With Windows Dialup Networking, there are at least a dozen things that could be going wrong. And now that the Company is moving everything to RNAS and VPN, it is just getting hairier. I really am not paid enough to deal with it!
This iBook amazes me all the time. What a great machine! I was thinking earlier that Apple's machines make me excited about computers. From my first Apple //c to the original Mac to my iBook (and I am drooling over the iMacs!), every time I play with a Mac I just LOVE what I am doing. I was actually AppleScript-ing earlier.
So, honk if you love your iBook!
Have fun... Tony.

Same here, I even got it to work with WIN2k VPN works like a charm, but I can't remember if we had IPSEC turned on.
Never had a problem with this puppy, DSL/CABLE goes down np whip out the iBook and switch to dailup operational in 30seconds. Those network profiles are so handy, I just wish they added some more functionality with it like the ability to configure other apps like firewall passwords if your at the office and you need to pass through a firewall to get access to the internet.

Meet Alchemy, the most reliable little computer I've ever met, and the most fun to use. I'm always amazed at all the problems Windoze users have (Adware? Wha?), and I just smirk and move on.

I just love my iBook,it's awesome, OS X is also great. I also use an NEC LaVie LC500 (yuuukk) with XP Home, the specs are similar (PIII 800MHz, 640 MB, 30GB, DVD/CDRW) althought the lavie has a larger screen (15") it's tottaly buggy. No book (except the PBs)I know compare to the power and ease of use of this little wonder machines.
Honk a million times!
