So I am looking on RAMSeekers web site and I see they have a company listed that is selling 1GB RAM chips for the 15" Powerbook. Is anyone out there running more than 1GB? Can it be done in the latest 15" PowerBook?
Money being no object (which isn't the case, but I am curious) what do people feel is the sweet spot for memory?

Boundless Technologies and 18004memory have them for $169.00.
Not cheap, but not exactly pricey either.

I think those are 1GB "kits" - i.e., two 512MB RAM modules sold together.

When I did order my PowerBook in november AppleStore Sweden had an offer that if you order any "Power" product before december 31st you could double your RAM for a silly fee of about $50. So I did get 1GB RAM on BTO from AppleStore.
I've heard about some that didn't buy the extra RAM from Apple had problems, the dealer where they got the RAM from got a bad batch and almost everyone had to get their RAM replaced. It was a frustrating time for them since they were suffering from Kernel Panics without knowing why, until some bright person (me!) suggested it might be a bad RAM-chip.

The 1-gigabyte memory module for the 12-inch PowerBook is aDDR-SDRAM module. The 15-inch PowerBook uses PC-133 SDRAM.
