I know this shipping date isn't nearly as important as the "On or Before" Dates on our actual 17" PBs that we were going nuts about, but I was just wondering if Apple had shipped out any extra batteries for the 17" PB yet and if they'll be able to keep their marked dates on these or not.

I ordered mine via ADC in 2/23/03 and I've got an OOB of 4/21/03.

Please post where you ordered it from, if any discounts applied, and your order date *and* On Or Before shipment date.

I ordered an additional battery for my 17" PB on Sunday(April 13) through the Apple Store online. I selected standard shipping and my order gave an estimated ship date of 3 to 4 weeks.

I was surprised when the Battery Showed up Wednesday morning! Only 3 days.

It arrives with one green light of charge. So I put my PowerBook to sleep and popped in the battery. It took about two hours to charge and another two and half hours to deplete for calibration.

The new battery has that same peculiar smell that the 17" PowerBook had when I opened up it's packaging.

Wow, so you've already received your Extra Battery for the 17" PowerBook?

Anyone else have theirs yet and/or are still waiting?

Yeah I got mine on Thurs. I had an on or before of 5/5 so I was surprised when I received a shipment notification on Tues. Arrived via Airborne on Thurs. Wish I would have had this kind of service with the actual purchase of the 17" itself.

ordered mine at the same time as my pb17 on keynote day.

got it a week before my powerbook came. last week of march maybe?

I ordered my extra battery about mid February and it came in to my school's computer store 4/16/03. I don't really know what my On or Before date was, the store didn't give me one but rather a rough estimate. Oh well, it's in.

Wow, strange...lotsa people already have them, and here it is 4/21/03, and I still don't have it nor a shipping notice, and my "On or Before" Date is still 4/21/03...guess we'll see what the rest of the day brings.

Argh!! Now I know how some of you guys feel...here it is 4/22/03, when my original OOB date was 4/21/03, and now I check my order status to see an updated OOB date of 5/12/03. It's not like I really really need it right now or anything, however I could use it...grrr!

Hee hee! Be strong, it shall come. Though, I know what you mean about having to wait. There were a couple of times a few weeks ago when having two batteries would've been a God send. But, I have them now!

Ah crap...well I called ADC today and a real helpful fellow got my order # and looked up the missing extra 17" PB battery that I'm still awaiting, and he said that they're "out of stock" for them right now (I'm assuming ADC is out of stock) and that another shipment is expected this week, but a larger shipment is due on May 9th, which explains my May 12th OOB date. Grr, ah well, at least I got my 17" PB *before* it's OOB date!

Unbelievably, NO!

First I had an OOB of May 2, then May 9, then May 16, then JUNE 2nd!!! So if it doesn't come by June 2nd (like 4 MONTHS after ordering it!) I'm going to be doing some complaining. What in the world could be taking so long?!

I ordered mine on the 20th about, and they said it will ship on or before the 5th of June. I am crossing my fingers. If not, Ill just cancel it and buy it at a local apple store.
