Did Apple do anything to alleviate the issue with paint-chipping on the Titaniums, or did they completely ignore it throughout the entire line? I remember reading somewhere where someone said the newest Titaniums don't chip as much.

I´ve bought a 1Ghz Ti 15´ about 6 months ago. I do carry it around on a daily basis and do use it about 4 - 6 hours a day. Until now I don´t see any signs of paint chipping on my Ti. Maybe I am l lucky or they have changed something on their last revision of Ti´s.

I too have had my "rev D" tibook for around 6 months and not only have I not experienced any paint problems, I haven't heard of anyone to experience chipping with this latest rev (and trust me, I'm on MacNN too much ).

So, I'm assuming apple has fixed it.

On my Ti 400 Rev A, there was minimal chipping.

On my Ti 550 Rev B, there was outrageous chipping.

On my Ti 800 Rev C, a small amount of chipping on the back hinges occured after several months.

All of these units had a few chips incurred by my own carelessness, in addition to the ones that happened 'by themselves'.

I skipped the Rev D 1Ghz for a 17", so I don't know about chipping on the final revision of Titanium.
