Ever since one of the OS updates in March, my 1GHz PowerBook takes at least 30 seconds to go to sleep after I close the lid.

I'd rather not have to reinstall the OS. Anyone have and then resolve a problem like this?

Strange indeed, however, OS updates have the tendency to have negative backlashes to a system's performance. I highly doubt there'd be an easy fix other than re-installing the OS, unless you somehow backed up your previous version and can revert to that. Good luck!
