I have to pull it apart; when i push the button it doesn't just open. Anyone else having this problem? (Got the AlBook yesterday after waiting for two months, so this is pretty frustrating).

My lid springs up about 1/4 to 1/2 inch when I press the latch. The button is a little tricky. I have to press it carefully and firmly to get it to open. I like it this way...its baby proof

Maybe it's your hinge? Is it very resistant to opening?

It seems that someone had their display shatter because the lid was hard to open...

You might want to get that fixed. Someone cracked their screen trying to get it open when their button didn't work and was stuck too...

Don't worry about breaking anything. That guy either did something to his in advance, or some freak accident occured. You can grasp the screen at the sides and flex it violently and nothing will happen.

I doubt apple would do anything, but if it's annoying enough, you can try.

That doesn't seem right at all really...as soon as I push my released button in, my lid pops up immediately a good 1/2" at least...I'd certainly either let an Apple rep. at an Apple Store take a look at it or give AppleCare a call, because that sounds defective to me. Although it may never cause you any troubles, it'll put a hurting on the resale value at the least.
