Ok, I posted a few days ago on this, but it appears my problem has not gone away. This happens when the machine is plugged in, or when on battery power. At first I thought I had a power management issue that I reset, but I think there's something really goofy going on with my PowerBook G4. From time to time she'll just turn off. No warning, no nothing, just turns off. Then won't turn back on. But this time when it happened I got some strange and very very faint flashes on the screen. I proceeded to take the battery off, then the machine booted without me pusing the power button.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? I have the CompUSA warranty. I'm thinking of going in and making a HUGE stink because I can't trust the thing and I need it for grad. school finals.

THANKS!

Haven't had the same problem.

Why make a HUGE stink? Just go in, mention the problem, and be insistent in a calm but forceful way that the problem needs to be addressed immedately.

I didn't mean to suggest I would go in there guns blazing, I just meant I would insist on a immediate fix or replacement.

u would have better result if u come in nicely then being a jerk. CompUSA has always been easy to replace & return things when their product are defective.

also my DVI has no problems at all.

Does it do this when the power adapter is plugged in, also? The original Rev A Ti's had an issue where the battery was loose, and could cause the machine to be 'electrically disconnected'. If it does it when the adapter's in, then there's something wrong internally. The only thing I would worry about is if the problem isn't able to be proven at the time you're there. They may refuse to replace it if they can't see the actual problem.

I've never once had that problem. I got the DVI the day it was available and have been a happy camper since.

Well, problem resolved...I talked to Apple and they are going to repair it for me. They sent out a box and she'll be as good as new very soon! YAY!

Thanks for the feedback all...
