I'm wondering if people have the Spire backpack for their PB's -- Can anyone comment on either the volt XL or the meta bag? I'm looking at those and wondering if these are bags you can carry day to day (anyone have detailed pics?)

Usually I'd go through a backpack in about 6 months. So, when I got my Wallstreet many years ago, I got a Spire bag. It lasted up until I got my 17". I was so pleased, I got their Volt XL which perfectly fits the behemoth. I am completely satisfied.

Hi,
Is the Volt XL fairly large? I have the ZOOM XL and it is perfect. I just hope the Volt XL isn't too much larger.
Thanks-

I'm waiting for my Spire Meta XL. Should be here this week sometime.
I chose it over the Tom Bihn Brain Bag and the Brenthaven.

It's pretty big, not too much that you'd really notice, but I also carry a whole buch of books around, so it comes in handy. With a typically-sized binder in the main pouch, there's about eight inches of residual space above it.

I have the zoom xl and couldn't possibly ask for more. It's probably the best normal backpack I own, fits the powerbook wonderfully and still allows me to bring around anything I want without it looking bulky or fruity like most laptop bags.

I completely agree with you. The ZOOM XL is a perfect size however it doesn't fit my Powerbook 17". I'm hoping the Volt XL isn't that much larger.
