Hi all.

It's been a practice with my older notebooks to run them without batteries when used "desktop mode".

I frequently use my 12" PB in desktop-mode i.e. with pwoer adaptor plugged in, external keyboard + mouse and external monitor.

Question is: is it alright if I keep the battery in my 12"PB when I use it for long stretches (like 8-10hrs) in "desktop mode"?

Is there a chance that keeping the battery in will overcharge the battery of sorts, and shorten the battery life fast?

Also, I really do not like the idea of taking out the battery often, but if it can lengthen the life of the battery, I will do it.

Comments, advice anyone?

Thanks.

Laptops were designed to have the batteries in them at all times. There is no need to take out the battery.

Exactly, just like you wouldn't use your cell phone that's plugged into an AC outlet in your home w/ the battery out, don't use your notebook w/o the battery in. If the power flips off, you're still running.
