My PB now has a bright spot (about the size of a quarter) on it. You really notice it on a white background. Will apple cover this?

Bummer man.

Apple should definitely cover it, it should be considered a faulty screen. Give AppleCare a call and let them know about it. Most likely they'll give you an RMA and you'll hafta return it...I sure hope it gets back to you quickly!

its kind of slight and really noticable on a white background. How bad does it have to be?

That there sounds bad enough man...it may not be a group of dead pixels, but it sure sounds like a group of stuck pixels.
