Trusted sellers on eBay are probably your best bet. Just make sure it's a sealed box.

How can different vendors charge different prices for the AppleCare?

Also, isn't it model specific, or is the PowerBook AppleCare for all PBs?

Just curious,
X.

Different vendors charge different prices, depending on how little profit they are willing to make. AppleCare is model specific; there are four different boxes. PowerBook, iBook, iMac/eMac, and PowerMac.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

PowerBook AppleCare is for any PowerBooks still within it's first year of "complimentary" warranty service, regardless of the type/model. Anything from the 12" to the 17".

I got mine for $220 on eBay.

I'm a cynic, so I wouln't go with any of those eBay sellers for something like this. However, a few authorized resellers sell it for around $300, Small Dog being one of them.

As long as the Agreement Code works when you go to register it, what's the difference? Not trying to sass but all you're buying is a warranty agreement, not a computer or other hardware that could potentially be defective or otherwise bogus. I guess I just have a bit more faith in eBay even though I have had a couple people try, unsucessfully, to scam me.

I do see that Small Dog has it for $299, but again, it's all the same thing, right?
