After using the 17" over the last month I have really come to notice the hugely improved airport reception over my 15" 1GHZ Tibook.

I am always getting full signal everywhere in my house when I used to get half in certain places.

Transmission rates seem about double. (Not 5x)

Not only does it work well in the house the airport reception now works in the airport:

In the United Red Carpet Club at LAX I used to be able to just barely get Boingo wireless reception on my Tibook if I sat at a particular seat in the club and angled the Tibook in just the right way. I would get one level of signal and it would go in and out if anyone walked by. It worked maybe 30% of the time.

I just got back from a trip where I used my 17" in the club and I got 75% signal all over the place. No more voodoo science in getting the signal. I tried a few places and no problem with the signal.

I am really glad Apple fixed the aiport reception.
