I know this properly belongs in the NETWORKING forum (and I did post this there) but I thought I would try here too since I've read so many helpful comments in this forum.

I'm a Mac newbie with a 17" powerbook and a Netgear 802.11g wireless access point connected to a Netgear 802.11b wireless router. I've been surfing the internet and then realized when I checked the Network Utility that I was connected only through 802.11b. I made the computer connect to the 802.11g network, and I got a strong signal, but I can't connect to the internet through it. The Airport Setup Assistant supposedly configured everything just fine, but the access point does not show up when I use the Airport Admin Utility.

This is driving me crazy!!! Please help!

you should refrain from making double post in different forums & yes this belongs in the Networking forum.

why AAU doesnt see your is because you dont have an Aiport Base Station. I have a SMC wireless router & AAU can't see it since its not an ABS. correct me if im wrong guys.
