i have a pismo (512 mb ram, 10.2.5) with 3-year applecare that runs out this july. given this, i'd like to take care of certain issues soon, and i want to know if the following problems might be covered by applecare (calling apple to ask this question is way too much of a pain):

1. last week, i was playing a dvd, and the battery died after about 6 minutes (i swear i'm not exaggerating). this may have been steadily decreasing over time, but this is really ridiculous.

2. i am absolutely certain the colours (and perhaps the brightness) of the screen have also changed (i recently re-visited a graphic from two years ago and the colours look totally different on my screen from what they should be). the brightness problem is difficult to quantify (especially since i've changed offices and the ambient light is different), but i'm still kinda certain about it.

my question is whether these are things covered by appecare. do you think it's worth taking these up with them?

i would greatly appreciate any feedback.

thanks,
ged

1. Yes, they will replace your battery.

2. Yes, if I am understanding your problem correctly, it is a common one and they will fix it.
