Hi all,

I want to find out whether the 17inch Aluminium Powerbook's Video processor is powerful enough to run Maya or other 3d animation package on the intermediate level. Are there any 3d people in this forum who use the 17inch for their 3d work? Does anyone of you know much about Nvidia's GeForce4 440 in this regard? I am not too well versed with the type of video card/processor that are used in the 3d field. I heard that the GeForce series are only good for games and not for 3d applications. The Radeon 9000 is more suitable for 3d apps. Are these assumptions true?

hmm...sounds like the new upcoming Radeon card is going to supercede the Nvidia. Why did Apple choose to use GeForce card when the current Radeon card (running on the Titaniums) is better?

Is it true as well that the current DDR Ram in the 17inch are not fully utilised?
