I got accepted to beta test Everquest for the Mac. It runs quite smoothly and is in already in a decent state.

Minimum requirements are not set it stone but here's what they are predicting:
700Mhz or higher, at least 128MB of RAM, and an OpenGL compatible graphics card with 32MB of RAM

My system:
TiBook 500Mhz, 512MB Ram, playing via airport with belkin AP and W2K routing of DSL. Oh and of course a lowly 8MB Video Ram
(Buying a new system in June (Please release the new 15"ers))

My PC
PIII 600, 512MB Ram, Nvidia 2 64MB W2K Server

Here's what I've experienced so far:
I only have 8MB memory so only characters and small items are textured everything else is greyscale.
Zoning is 3x faster than my PC.
In about 5 hours of play I've only had 2 crashes that occured while zoning.
Fan runs 80% of time. Probably due to my weak GPU causing CPU to pick up the slack.
No sound yet or atleast on my system.
All the zones seem to be available including PoP but I only have a 8th lvl monk so I haven't ventured far.
I played for about 45min on the toilet.

I need to tweak the video settings. Perhaps I can get more textures. Also I'm running in 896 x 600 which uses the full screen and all other native and non-native video modes are available.

I played it on the PC for 3 years and only plan to beta test it for the Mac. Westlake did a great port and it feels faster than my PC (windowing, loading, movement, etc).

Any questions let me know.
If a group of mimes are miming a forest and one falls down, does he make a sound?
