I can't continue to do Apple rep work next year, so I won't be getting a free iBook loan next semester...

So I'm thinking of getting a PowerBook... I have a few questions:

1) Has anybody compared the 900 iBook with the 867 PowerBook? All things considered, which one is generally faster for core applications (Office, iLife, Safari, Omnigraffle, Photoshop, ...)?

2) Can I use iBook RAM in the 12 inch powerbook?

3) Can I use a non-extreme Airport card in the 12 inch powerbook?

Thanks!

The 12" AlBook will continually be faster thanks to the G4 chip, which runs much better in OS X than the G3 chip. In nearly every test imaginable, the G4 engine will outpace even the 900Mhz G3.

Unfortunatly, iBook RAM will not work in the 12" AlBook b/c the AlBook uses DDR RAM, whereas the iBook doesn't.

Nope. The slot in the 12" AlBook will *only* hold the AirPort Extreme card, and you cannot put an original AirPort card in there because it simply will not fit.

Feel free to post other Q's!

BTW, your red iBook for sale is gorgeous.
