hey all I just got a 12 with superdrive and it is cool... well not cool it is actually very hot(well documented)I am finishing my first dvd backup as I type this.. I'll let you know how that turns out... so far as long as the heat isn't a problem for the machine I love it.. I went from a 14" ibook 600 to this.. I am definately hooked.. next day or so I will hook up vpc and see how that runs(via external firewire)it ran ok on my ibook I expect better.. just thought I would post I have been on it for like 10hours almost time to let her rest..

Congrats!! Welcome to the PowerBook world!

You'll be thrilled w/ your 12" AlBook, you're already experiencing it's benefits over the iBook, and I hope it continues to treat you well! Best of luck w/ it!

I too have a 12" Powerbook and I love it. The only problem I've had is with a rubber foot. I have decided NOT to return my to Apple for a "foot replacement." Otherwise, I am very pleased with my new laptop. I am a switcher/mixer and love OSX!!!

Enjoy yours!

Hey I'm sure I heard somewhere if you take your Powerbook down to an Apple Store they can just stick a new foot on for free. Tom.
