I remember someone starting a topic about this, but I just wanted to say how awesome my presentation went, due in part to Keynote and my PB.

First off, the only Mac in the room, and at 17" it drew some looks.

But, the real winner was Keynote. I was afraid that I'd have compatibility issues with my groupmates (as they were using PowerPoint on PCs). There were a few (text running off the page, slide size optimized for 800 x 600) but after hammering them out, and applying transitions, the presentation was awesome. Another victory for me, my baby, and Keynote. WooT!

Yeah, cool!

I just gave an hour long talk with Keynote on my Ghz book. I received positive feedback on the content, but more than one person said, "man, your presentation just looked really, really good!"

I didn't think much of keynote when it was announced because I thought PPT was ok. Boy am I GLAD I tried keynote on a whim. I should have known that Apple would, once again, come out with an innovative product. I should say that Keynote doesn't just generate nice looking stuff, but it is SO much easier to use and more powerful than ppt. Making shows is just plain old fun!

If you haven't tried keynote and you give presentations...RUN, don't walk, to your nearest store and get a copy. You won't be disspointed.

Keynote is indeed a nice software.

I was particularly impressed by how
pretty the slides come out and how fluid
the transitions are.

However, Keynote is far from beeing
perfect and I still find myself using
Powerpoint from time to time.

The major problem I have with it is
how cumbersome it is to change font
styles, sizes and colors. Having multiple windows is probably nice with
very large screen, but it is a pain to
use on a smaller one, even with a Ghz Ti
screen at roughly 1280*850.

Also, the geometrical figure set is
too small to my taste, and the choice
of themes (although gorgeous)is pretty
poor (unless you're willing to buy some
themes packs)

Other than that, I do like Keynote very
much and I hope we will see a version
2.0 adressing this (minor I agree but
still annoying) issues.

Umm, where can we pick up theme packs? I would've liked to have had more options for my presentation. Can I flip through them online at the Apple store (if so where, I couldn't find it) or do I need to go to a physical Apple store?

Go to www.keynotehq.com for some theme packs. I think there are others but this is the first one that comes to mind.
