Hello,

I have a first generation dual USB 12 inch ibook. It is a great machine but it runs slow in OS X. I have 256 MB and I want to get a 512 RAM do bring me up to a total of 640 ram. My question is will it make 'THAT' big a differnce. I'm worried that I will spend the moeny for 512 and then with the 500 mhz it won't run that much faster anyway.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I ran my 500 iBook with 384 for quite some time and then upgraded to 640. There was not much of a difference.

I'm fairly sure you will see a difference going up from 256 to any amount higher. What are 256MB sodimm's going for on eBay, it must cost more for shipping...
