I also have JBL creatures. When I bought them, I was afraid JBL sacrificed sound quality for looks, but the speakers are great. Bass is good and the satellites are remarkably crisp. You can get a tiny glimpse of them on my site (check signature). If you'd like more pictures, let me know and I'll send you my set up.

I got the creature speakers for christmas last year and i love them to death. When i get my new iPod i cant wiat to hook them up. With the PB its great sound, and the sexy speakers definetly make great noise and the bass is just wonderful. I highly recomend the creature over the apple pro speakers.

Man, I remember a few months ago when I was thinking about getting the JBL everyone told me to stay away from them.

It seems like now everyone's got thim. Yeah go with the JBL, I think you could find them for cheaper online than at the Apple Store though.

I have the PlanarMedia 9 Monsoon flat panel speakers

They sound great for under $100; speakers sound very clear, good bass, and looks good too!

The Apple pro speakers wont work with the powerbook. They only work with powermacs with a built in amplifier. Griffen just released the powerwave USB audio hub though which apparantly supports the pro speakers.
