i am wondering if it will damage my powerbook if i leave it plugged into the wall for extended periods of time. my notebook stays on my desk a lot, and i just leave the power cord plugged into the side. will it damage the battery or do anything bad that i should be aware of? thanks.

Shouldn't harm it. I have my Powerbook hooked up to the AC most of the time too. The batteries are smarter nowdays too, so they cycle through instead of being "topped off" all the time.

I just put my computer to sleep at night with everything hooked up to it.

Nope, it won't harm it a bit. Mine has stayed plugged into the wall constantly since I've gotten it while it's been used as a desktop replacement. I never shut it down either, just put it to sleep for the night.

The batteries are designed to stop receiving charge at about 95% so that is doesn't top off and shorten the battery's life; this is why sometimes the meter reports less than 100% even though it's "full".

So no, leaving it plugged in 24/7 won't harm it at all.
