Hi,

I have 2 snow airports. One in the office and one at home. The one at home works like a charm with my iBook. I come home, open my laptop and it detects the airport and I am surfing away. The one in the office is a bit trickier. It does not detect the airport when I open the laptop up.(airport is greyed out). So I unplug the airport and the broadband connection to it, wait a while and then re-connect and I can surf the web at work. However, after a short spell I get a drop out in signal and sometimes I cannot connect to the internet until I disconnect the power to airport and broadband service and reconnect it all over again. It only happens with the airport in my office though. The home unit and even, wireless hot-spots that I frequent in town seem to be able to connect and maintain the link without difficulty. Can anyone offer some help please. Do you think it is the airport unit itself? I am at my wits end here. Thanks

just to see, swap the airport unit at work with the one at home. that'll give you a starting point

Are both base stations using the same channel? (configured via the Bs utility)

Some channels may be more or less effective in certain areas (depends on environment, portable phone usage etc). At home, some channels give me more drop outs than others.

Do you have a lot of metal in the walls at work? (Is it a corporate center, converted home etc)

Do you have the airport set to connect to a specific network or to the one with the best signal? (in Network preferences)
