This is probably elementary but I was wondering is it possible to move a 256Mb strip of Ram from a 700Mhz iBook to a 366Mhz iBook. I want to increase the Ram in the icebook but don't want to dump the Ram!
I know that they both use 144pin SODIMM (whatever that means ) but I just wanted to check with you guys first if it's okay!
Is it difficult to remove the Ram from an icebook? It seems very easy in the clamshell.
Thanks in advance

No answers. Is that a NO! Looking up an old Macworld magazine, it says that the 256MB module in my icebook should be SDRAM, PC100 144Pin etc.
The Clamshell should take the same type of Ram according to the table in the article. Please, is this true? I would like to get some verification from someone before I go messing with the machines..
Is at advisable to take Ram out of one ibook and put it in another??
Thanks again,

Yes it will work.

To remove the RAM from an iceBook, you need a Phillips #0 screwdriver. Just remove the keyboard (use a small flat screwdriver on the little num-lock light if it's locked in place), remove the airport card, and unscrew the RAM shield with the Phillips. There are diagrams on the underside of the keyboard even!

"That's Mama Luigi to you, Mario!" *wheeze*

Thanks, will order the Ram now and then get that screwdriver you mention. Thanks for mentioning the size required. That would be exactly the thing I would forget to check..
Thanks again!
