Kay..i've been searching this site and doing some homework reading up Help..but I can't seem to figure it out how to set a computer-to-computer wireless networking without using an Access Point.
I have a LinkSys PCI Wi-Fi card on my XP box and I want to connect my 17" PB directly using Airport Extreme.
I tried creating a network in OSX from System Preferences > Network but I kept getting a dialog saying that "There was an error creating your Computer to Computer network"
What am I missing? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if this will work between a Mac and a PC, but you can create a network directly through your Mac. To do so:
Go to the airport strength icon in the upper right corner and in the resutling drop down menu select "Create Network..."
Enter the name of the network and click on "Show Options" if you want to create a password for the network. Click "OK" once you've set everything up.
You've created the network on your PB17. Now you must connect and my knowledge of PC wireless protocol won't get you far here. See if you can find the network on your PC in whatever application you would one would do that in. Enter the necessary information (name of network, password, channel, etc.) and see if you can get it.
Hope that helps.

No problem, but it seems I didn't really help.
