Hello,
I im tring to boot from a drive10 cd on a 12"powerbook. Can't Do it. Just boots useing internal drive evertime. Even when you set it in startup disks. It reboots and has a flashing folder and then comes back to the internal drive. I dont get it. It boots on Dual 800 and a ibook. but not 12" powerbook. The burner works and the dvd player works so I know its not that. Any thought would be great.

With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

Shut Down your machine, then since you've already got the CD in your drive, hit the Power Button as immediately after that, hold the "C" button. This should tell your machine to boot from the CD instead of the hard drive.

Tried that Tryied holding down option too. The PB will not boot from the cd. Now I'm thinking that the 12" can't boot from cd's and they have to use the dvd versions. Like the install cd that came with it, but that seems a little werid.
Any other thoughts

Hmm, on the newer machines (like your 12" AlBook) the Restore/OS X disc *IS* a DVD. So definitely try that DVD that came with it, that's the disc you need.

ok just talked to apple. They said this cd will not boot because the lowest version of the OS that can be run on the machine is 10.2.3. On the Drive 10 cd thee is only 10.2.2. So no go. So the next question is how do I make a boot cd with drive 10 and a bootable version of OS X.2.6.
Hows that going to work.

Ahhh, didn't realize it was below 10.2.3, that would've solved it, hehe, but at any rate, I'm glad you found out, and let us know if it's successful! Good luck!

Just before you burn you can log in and enter your password. I seem to remember doing that with Diskwarrior because I was locked out of the CD after burning it.
