Although my powerbook is now over one year old, and its 1 year warranty has expired, should I be able to get it serviced under the warranty if the faults were reported within the one year? My powerbook has a problem, which I reported at around christmas time. I never sent the machine in though, as I couldn't part with it for more than one day.. now, I'd like to get the issue fixed, however I'm past the one year. I'm wondering if Apple still is required to honor the warranty and fix the problem as I originally reported it, or should I not bother even trying?

I always forget the real number to call, but calling that number will give you the right one if you choose the service option. Just explain your problem to them and see what they have to say.

Read my previous thread from a week ago about my powerbook repair saga. Now, I had a manufacturer's defect, and it was less than a year, so the circumstances are slightly different. But they were nothing but helpful with me, so perhaps you can hope for the same.

Just curious: have you some written/signed by serviceman/dated report about the probīs? If so, give it a try, if not: good luck!

I would hope that simply by giving Apple the case ID#, that they could see what was reported on what date, and fix as required. I would put up a big stink if they wont repair under warranty, people do have work to do and cant part with their machines until they make other arrangments. That said, good luck with it!
