battery life for 12" ibooks decreasing?

I've been using my girlfriend's 500mhz dual usb ibook lately... the one with 66mhz system bus and am very happy with the battery life of this unit. I think I'm going to get one of the new 900mhz ibooks in the next month or two. Here's my question:

As the processors have gotten faster, the system bus has been upped to 100mhz and the gpu much faster and more powerful, has the battery life gotten worse for the 12" ibook?

Also, with the processor set to "reduced," does anybody know what the 900mhz ibook will scale down to? 700mhz? 500mhz?
