ok this is weird. when i tried restarting the comp nothing happened, it still refused to take in cds. then i shut the computer down and as i pushed on the power switch to restart it, i heard a loud click noise from my cd drive, almost as if something inside the drive got unstuck.
in any case its taking cds again, i'm going to try and burn a quick cd to test it out and make sure nothing is wrong.
but what on earth could have happened? and should i still take it to apple?

Hmmm, check it out if it works reliable now (supposing you have still plenty warranty days left).
