Ok, I am eagerly waiting for the 15" AIBook, but more and more it looks like they are simply not coming out any time soon...

Is there any way to add a Bluetooth adapter INSIDE (no dongles hanging off the side...) the TiBook?

PCI cards? Airport/BT combo cards?

Any ideas?

Everything I've seen has been the USB dongle type...

I remember reading about someone modding their PowerBook to make the BT internal.

Of course, that means that the warranty would be voided and you lose one USB port (for the BT stick). You may require soldering and electronical skills too

mac.goodies webstore / Switched to an iBook in November 2002. Never looking back.

Yeah, I saw the mod. Basically you have to solder the BT USB adaptor in your Tibook to one of your usb ports. There is space, but you knock out the port for external connections, unless you figure out how to cram a hub in there too.

I ask the rhetorical question, is it really worth the 10 seconds to plug the BT adaptor in, or the T minus-6 months or less until you find a model you want.

I must admit, I thought about doing the mod before I got the 17" for about 45 seconds then snapped out of it!

I thought about doing the mod too, but losing a USB port is too much, and apparently, the BT dongle's range is much reduced after the "operation".

I'm just holding out till there's a 15" Alubook. But it definitely is a pain to dig into my bag for that dongle, and then remember to always put it back in the same place.
