I'm in need of a Powerbook and no longer need my iMac G4 17" 800mhz.

I have the chance to swap it for a 15" 667mhz Ti Book.

What do you think the value of my machine and a 15" 66mhz TI are $?

Do you think this would be a fair trade?

I don't think this is a fair trade, depending on a few things

1. Does your iMac have a SuperDrive....? If not, will you need to burn DVD's??

2. There were two versions of the 667 released.....does the version you're swapping for have a combo drive (DVD,CD-R), as well as DVI???

If it has those two things, and you don't need the superdrive, then go for it!

otherwise, without CD-R and DVI, the Powerbook really loses some GREAT features

A :Yes mines is the Superdrive model, however i'm not fussed about a dvd burner (only burned i dvd with it)

A :Yes it has a combo drive and its the later dvi model.

Seems like you think i should go for it, just needed to see if i was getting a fair trade.

Thanks

If you really need a powerbook, than it is probably a pretty good deal for you. Also, not too bad for the other party. If I had a chance to trade my 800 Combo/DVI for 17'iMac with superdive I probably trade straight up. I love my ti800 but I am drooling over the possibilities with the new 15.4 and 12's 17's with Superdrive. If you don't need the DVD burner, the 667 will just be slower than you are accustomed to.
