I want to use my 20" monitor with my Gigabook, but instead of having the menu bar on the Powerbook ie Finder Edit etc, I want to use it on the 20" monitor, leaving the book as the second monitor.

There seems to be no way of doing this. Anyone have an answer please?

Just go to the "displays" section of the system preferences. There is an option there to arrange the postition of the screens relative to each other. If you drag the menubar indicator from one screen to the other, it will allow you to do what you want.
