Dude, this is going to be a useless post, but what the hell.
I ordered a 12" PB on Tuesday. (1825 maxed out with combo drive from ADC)
Much to my surprise, it shipped yesterday (Thursday) morning.
Everything's good to go, and I'm drooling thinking of my new system being there when I get home from work.
Then FedEx gets into it...."We can't find your house"
Granted, I live in the middle of nowhere, on a dirt road, but still....the house number's there, and mapquest is perfectly able to place it on a map.
#$*(&#%(*BASTARDS)(@#$)($@Lousy&#$%asshats #$&ARRGHHHHHH!!!!!
yeah, they suck. I've had this happen with every single fedex package I've gotten for the last two years, and I've lived in many different places, some right in the middle of the city, where there should be no problems. Somehow, they always manage to not get me the package. And it's always something important.

There's a very simple solution to this problem of yours:
Obtain the tracking number and then either you or the shipper/company call FedEx and specify "local FedEx station pick-up only."
Then drive to the local FedEx station and pick it up.
Nothing will ever be late or lost again.

Or add your phone number to the address line - I've used
Joe Smith
1234 Your Street
Yourtown, ST ZIP
DRIVER CALL FOR DIRECTIONS: xxx-xxx-xxxx"
I ask them to do all CAPS as it's pretty hard to miss. Use your home phone, office phone, cell phone, whatever - wherever you'll be when the try to delivery.

The pickup idea is no dice...they're open roughly the same hours as banks...namely when I'm at work, and it's an hour and a half away. The adding call for directions line is a good idea, though. I gave them a ring, and hopefully....the bastards will call if they get lost.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I have things delivered to me at work. Serves several purposes - I get it sooner, there is always someone there to sign for it, never gets left on my porch for several hours, and FedEx/UPS make regular stops so they know where it is.

I was able to finally call them and give them directions...
One note though..Macmall hides fedex tracking numbers, and fedex can't do much without them. You have to call up macmall during the .13ns each day that a manager is there, so they can give you the number.
The people at Fedex seemed to like saying,
"I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do."
But hey, hang in there. The Powerbook definitely made up for whatever crap fedex put me through.
And anyway, it's just a computer.......
