I'm only getting 2 hours on a fully charged and previously calibrated (a few times now) battery. What the heck is going on? I have the newest OS version (2.6). I heard that people saw a jump with this new version?? I have all the power settings set for the longest battery life too. What am I doing wrong? am I just stuck?

Hmm, are you doing massive amounts of multi-tasking and such on it? Are you ultilizing AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth during those two hours?

It's possible that you have a faulty battery, however I would assume you'd get horrible numbers if it was faulty...I'm not sure man, maybe call Apple and tell them about and you may get a new battery out of it.

as assassyn said, turn off things like airport, bluetooth, bring your brightness down, etc.... that oughta squeeze some more time out.

It maybe worth checking other settings like turning off Bluetooth when not in use, setting the HD to spin down, lowest screen brightness etc

I found that the 'longest battery' option is often not the best way to preserve life, under my particular usage...

Hope you get it sorted,

Marc

(I found on my 12" that with Bluetooth running and the screen brightness up and playing/running CDs, it sucks battery life down to about 2.5 hours... (Bluetooth especially is a big drain on the battery...)

I get 2 hours almost exactly when running with the processor on high, screen all the way up, and both radios on.

When I turn off the radios, run at 30% brightness, and run at reduced I get about 3:45, which isn't great, but acceptible for a laptop this size/weight.
